    The Workshop Toolbox

Providing Counseling and workshops that cultivate growth

Our philosophy - At our deepest level we all long for growth and connection.  It is through wholehearted living, authenticity, self-compassion, and education that we believe this is possible.  Our passion for providing quality workshops and groups is the heart of The Workshop Toolbox.

The Workshop Toolbox - We offer individual and family counseling as well as a variety of workshops that help facilitate personal and professional growth and connection. Our workshops are provided for an individual or in the workplace.

The only journey is the one inside.

    Workshops

Are you tired of carrying the weight of perfection, struggling to feel good enough, and feeling like you have to earn love and worthiness? Have you ever said to yourself,“I’m not _____ (successful, smart, talented, attractive, etc.) enough?” Would you like to put an end to self-doubt and second-guessing and start living a fuller and braver life?

The primary focus of this 3-day personal growth workshop is on developing shame resilience skills and embracing the courage that will transform the way we live, love, parent and lead.

We will explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame and worthiness. In the safety of the small group, we dig deep into thoughts, emotions and behaviors that hold us back from living fuller lives.  We will identify new choices and practices that will help move us to greater authenticity and whole-hearted living.

    One-Day Workshop for Lawyers

In professions where people are expected to project an air of confidence and authority, showing vulnerability

can seem counter-intuitive. When being vulnerable is viewed as a weakness, we find ways to avoid or hide our struggles. However, Dr. Brené Brown’s research reveals that there is a vital place for embracing

vulnerability to be confident, successful and connected.

How does comparison, shame, and limiting self-talk keep you from being your best personal and professional self?

In what ways are you “playing small” in your practice or your life? Are you tired of carrying the weight of

perfection, struggling to feel good enough, and feeling like you have to earn love and worthiness?

Have you ever said to yourself, “I’m not _____ (successful, smart, talented, attractive, etc.) enough?”

In this 1-day workshop designed especially for lawyers, we explore thoughts, emotions and behaviors that hold us back from living fuller lives. Developing shame resilience starts with understanding what shame is, how we as

individuals exhibit shame, and how to be appropriately vulnerable. We will identify new choices and practices that help move us to greater authenticity and whole-hearted living.

Rising Strong™ is personal growth workshop based on the simple physics of vulnerability:

If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall.

Rising Strong™ teaches us that it is through owning our stories of struggle that we find the resilience, strength and courage to rise strong and create a new and daring ending.

Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.

Rising Strong™ teaches us that it is through owning our stories of struggle

that we find the resilience, strength and courage to rise strong

and create a new and daring ending.

Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.

Join us as we explore the stories that hold us back and together

we will rewrite a brave new ending.

    Testimonials

The Daring Way™ workshop was the best thing I could ever have done for myself. The personal growth I experienced in those three days was phenomenal; walking in with feelings of despair, no self-worth, and fearful of the future to leaving with confidence in myself and my ability to face challenges unafraid. Abi and Laura were so skillful in their ability to guide me through this three-day journey, unfolding who I really am without the baggage from other people. I'm so happy I gave myself this gift! I know now how to stand up, be strong, be vulnerable!

"Our sense of self worth lives inside our story. Either we own our story – all of it – or we stand outside the story and we hustle for our worthiness." Hustling to fit in and be enough is exhausting.

Participating in The Daring Way™ with Abi and Laura was an incredible life-changing experience. They gently guided me to know my story, own my story and live the story that I choose to create. Every day that I choose to practice the principles in Brené Brown's work I am living wholeheartedly and closer to the person God made me to be. There is no greater joy than this.

I am a person in recovery from substance use, other mental health and HIV. I also serve as the Student Engagement Coordinator and am a certified Peer Recovery Coach at University High School, which is the recovery high school in Austin, TX. Going into the beginning of the Daring Way™ workshop, I had no idea what to expect. I heard rumors of vulnerability. I didn’t know how deep it went. The way that the material was presented and the interactivity of the group opened my eyes to different ways that I can be more present in all areas of my life to ensure that I have safe, healthy and fruitful relationships with the people I love. I’m even still in an email thread with the other people that participated in the workshop with the subject: “Marble Jar Friends.” These are tools that I really want to incorporate into the programing at UHS too. I think the kids could really benefit from it. It was a fantastic experience and I can’t wait to learn more!

Laura and Abi beautifully complement each other as joint presenters of the Rising Strong Retreat!  Their respective skills as seasoned therapists foster a safe space to reflect on the various struggles and setbacks that shape our individual stories. With tact and poise, they present a simple but profound process of reframing these narratives. I highly recommend the experience to anyone who is seeking a greater clarity of purpose and a deeper sense of meaning for their lives.

I was not quite prepared for this life changing experience that continues to have a great impact on me.

This fresh and “Daring Way” workshop was extremely difficult but amazingly rewarding.

I’ve found new skills to utilize and courage to call on when I need it.

Thank you, Abi and Laura for inspiring me, being effective facilitators of

Daring Way and helping me to grow at exactly the right time and for the right reason.
